Someone once told me

It used to be that the internet was all about secret identities, hiding yourself behind masks, psuedonyms and avatars. You could be anything you wanted to be because no one knew any better.  Now it’s a place to expose your darkest fears, brightest ideas, most intimate moments. Somewhere to connect, share, overshare. How could one ever feel alone anymore? We always used to hope that maybe there was someone out there who felt the same way we do. Now we’re certain of it. It’s the first step to a hive mind. It’s actually quite… scary. I choose to withdraw and withhold, the same as I do IRL. But even as I do so, I admire those that have the courage to expose it all. They share so we don’t have to.
