A poem for Blair.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Focus<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

1.<\/p>\n

Some days<\/p>\n

the only things that matter<\/p>\n

are the million tiny kindnesses<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

the sound the cat makes<\/p>\n

when she lands on the bed<\/p>\n

all the words you\u2019ve whispered<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

cats do not care<\/p>\n

if you haven\u2019t brushed your hair<\/p>\n

or gotten up\u00a0in days<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

or replied to emails<\/p>\n

or answered phone calls<\/p>\n

or done anything more than stare at the ceiling<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

as long as they can nap<\/p>\n

in the crook of your body<\/p>\n

they forgive you.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2.<\/p>\n

Cats purr at a range of 20-140 Hertz<\/p>\n

which is medically therapeutic<\/p>\n

for knitting bones and healing soft tissue<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

when you draw hearts<\/p>\n

you\u2019re supposed to start from the middle<\/p>\n

and work your way outwards<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

but the method doesn\u2019t account for<\/p>\n

lines of healed\u00a0scars<\/p>\n
